Step One thought and scripture – Day 21.

Step One in Alcoholics Anonymous

Admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.

Step One in Living Free

I now see [admit] that I, of myself, am powerless, unable to control [manage] my life by myself.

When the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir were poised to attack King Jehoshaphat and the Kingdom of Judah, King Jehoshaphat cried out and prayed to the Lord. It was in this condition of powerlessness that allowed God to come through and deliver them from their enemies. We need to put ourselves in a position of powerlessness and total dependence on God and let Him deliver us from all of our issues in our life!

2 Chronicles 20:12

New Living Translation (NLT)

12 ….We are powerless against this mighty army that is about to attack us. We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help.”
