Step One in Alcoholics Anonymous

Admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.

Step One in Living Free

I now see [admit] that I, of myself, am powerless, unable to control [manage] my life by myself.

When we live according to our will and best efforts it leads us down a path of humiliation and destruction, but when we live humbly before God, He will bring us to a place of honor.
