Step One thought and scripture – Day 18.

Step One in Alcoholics Anonymous

Admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.

Step One in Living Free

I now see [admit] that I, of myself, am powerless, unable to control [manage] my life by myself.

When you admit that you are powerless over drugs or alcohol you begin on the pathway to no longer allow those things to control you. Do not allow anything outside of God to control you.

2 Peter 2:19

New Living Translation (NLT)

19 They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.
