Step One thought and scripture – Day 15.

Step One in Alcoholics Anonymous

Admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.

Step One in Living Free

I now see [admit] that I, of myself, am powerless, unable to control [manage] my life by myself.

One of the struggles we encounter when we give up our will is that we only give up our will if it looks like it will benefit us. When we give up our will, even when it looks like it will not benefit us, God can then work His perfect plan in our life.

Luke 22:42

New Living Translation (NLT)

42 “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
